Product Review: Lush The Birth of Venus Jelly Face Mask

I don’t know about you but as much I love the cooling fresh face masks from Lush, unless I’m sharing them with a friend I can never finish them by their use by date which I find very wasteful. So when I heard about Lush’s new Jelly face masks which are self preserving and have a 3 month shelf life, I had to pop in to my local Lush and see what’s new. My skin is combination and quite sensitive so I decided to go for the The Birth of Venus jelly mask which promises to soothe, balance and soften your skin. The scent is very beach-y seaside like as the product itself is made with sea water in addition to camomile, kaolin and rose petal infusion.

Using this product is also quite fun, it kind of reminds me of a softer playdoh consistency (especially as it is a bright turquoise blue) and you essentially pinch a piece of the jelly mask and rub it in between your hands so the warmth softens the product and turns it into a paste. You then apply it on to your face and leave it for 5/10 minutes and then rinse off. I used a face cloth to help remove all the product and I was left with plump super soft skin with an improved even texture so I would happily recommend this product!

The jelly face masks retail for £6.95 in the UK and I estimate that you could potentially get 8 uses out of this product so at under 80p per use this is great value for money for a face mask.

Have you tried any of the Jelly Face Masks?
