I’m a huge fan of Lush and love spending time in the store (especially the Oxford Street Flagship) perusing all the bath bombs, face masks and skincare BUT did you know that they also stock make up? As I’m trying to use more natural products, I thought I would check out their cosmetic offerings and picked up an Eyebrow Crayon, Liquid Eyeliner, Mascara and their equivalent of a Foundation – Colour Supplement. Day to day, I was never really a huge foundation wearer, I don’t like how it feels on my skin and honestly I would rather spend 5mins in bed sleeping than spend it blending Foundation into my jawline (spot concealing is my jam). Now I’m in my 30s, my skin tone isn’t what it was and I could definitely do with some help with evening out redness and hiding those monthly spots.
The Lush Colour Supplement is described as a Multipurpose Base Colour and this drew me in as they can be used as either a Concealer, Foundation or if you mix it with your daily moisturiser, a Skin Tint. It has a very dewy creamy texture and does give your skin a glow-y look but I don’t feel that it gives the most amazing coverage so it’s definitely more for people who like their skin to look natural and for drier skins. As a Concealer, it was nowhere near pigmented enough to cover my under eye circles so as separate product was definitely needed in my case!
The foundation costs £9.99 and comes in 5 shades: Jackie Oates (for pale skins), Light Yellow, Light Pink, Dark Pink and Dark Yellow so the range doesn’t really cater for all skin colours which is a massive shame.
As a long time Lush fan, I really wanted to like this but it just wasn’t for me. Have you tried Lush make up? Or any other natural makeup brands?
UPDATE: Lush are unfortunately discontinuing their cosmetics line but you can still find some products in some stores!
