Product Review: The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG Eye Serum

Over the last few years, I can’t think of another brand that has shook up the beauty industry like Deciem’s The Ordinary. Products produced to target individual specific needs at very competitive prices where you can mix and match to your hearts desire.

Now to be honest with you, as I’m not a professional, I do find the products available quite baffling (and perhaps I require a Chemistry degree before making a wise choice) but there was one product which caught my (tired) eye.

The Ordinary Caffeine Solution is a potent serum loaded with antioxidants and anti-inflammatories to help reduce puffiness and dark circles. EGCG is a potent polyphenol found in Green Tea which helps you look like you actually sleep instead of scrolling through instagram/watching netflix/in da club (delete as necessary).

At the pocket change price of £5.80 with amazing reviews and finally finding it available for sale on their website (this product sells-out very quickly), I had to give the serum a try. The consistency is very lightweight almost water-like and absorbs into the skin very quickly. It isn’t moisturising so I did need to use an eye cream after and waited for the magic to happen.

On applying the serum there is an immediate tightening effect and after a couple of days use, I can see there is a difference with regards to puffiness which possibly no other eye product has ever done before for me. We are in ride or die territory here and this serum is in heavy rotation in my routine (hence the not so perfect bottle – sorry!) My dark circles are still there but I am super pale so unfortunately I can’t quit concealer just yet!  If you are in London, I would 100% recommend visiting the store in Covent Garden or Boxpark or trying to source this online (the struggle is real) however it is currently available on theordinary.com so go go go!
